What is spinal decompression?
Decompression uses a computer-controlled system to apply a slow, gentle pull to the spine, then ease off, in a set rhythm. This gently opens the space between the bones of the spine, which can reduce pressure on bulging discs and irritated nerves. You stay fully clothed and relaxed throughout.
Two ways to decompress
Triton table: you lie comfortably on a padded table while the system gently decompresses your neck (cervical) or lower back (lumbar).
Back On Trac chair: an FDA-cleared decompression system you use while seated, with no straps or harness. It also treats both the neck and the lower back. Because nothing presses on the belly, it's a comfortable option for patients who can't lie on a table, including during pregnancy.
What it helps with
- Bulging and herniated discs
- Sciatica and pain down the leg
- Pinched nerves in the neck or lower back
- Degenerative disc disease
- Spinal stenosis
- Pregnancy-related back pain (Back On Trac chair)
Is it right for me?
Decompression isn't right for everyone. Recent spinal surgery or hardware, fractures, severe osteoporosis, and some other conditions can rule it out. We check for all of these at your first visit and recommend the right option for you.
Where we see you
We have two offices, both inside Parkway Athletic Club and open to everyone, no gym membership needed. South Reno is on Double Diamond Parkway, close to Damonte Ranch and South Meadows. Sparks is on East Lincoln Way, near The Outlets at Legends.
