What is corrective exercise?
Pain often comes back because the reason it started never changed: a weak hip that overloads the knee, tight calves that strain the heel, or a stiff upper back that overworks the neck. Corrective exercise finds those weak links and strengthens them, so your body handles daily life, work, and sport without breaking down.
Dr. Covert is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and a personal trainer, so your plan is built on real training experience.
How it works
- We assess how you move to find weak, tight, or overloaded areas
- We teach you each exercise in the office and check your form
- You get a simple plan to do at home, with clear instructions
- We progress your exercises as you get stronger
What it helps with
Corrective exercise is part of almost every care plan we build, from back and neck pain to tendinitis, sports injuries, and recovery after shockwave therapy.
It's also how we handle rehab. After an injury, therapeutic exercises rebuild range of motion, strength, and control step by step, so you can get back to work, sport, and daily life with confidence.
Where we see you
We have two offices, both inside Parkway Athletic Club and open to everyone, no gym membership needed. South Reno is on Double Diamond Parkway, close to Damonte Ranch and South Meadows. Sparks is on East Lincoln Way, near The Outlets at Legends.
Questions
Do I need to go to a gym?
No. Most exercises need little or no equipment and can be done at home in a few minutes a day.
What happens at the first visit?
We talk through your history and check how you move to find the source of the problem, then explain what's going on and your options. New patient visits take about 45 to 60 minutes.
Do I need a referral?
No referral needed. You can book directly with Dr. Covert online or by phone.
